Dimapur, September 11 (MExN): The NNC (NA) has admitted that it has been observing the recent political activities of the Naga issue and though it has not commented for reason best known to its Government, they are very much aware of all the activities that is going on and the NNC (NA) hope and pray that the outcome will be positive.
A press statement issued by the MIP, NNC (NA) stated that the role played by the FNR is “highly commendable” and they do not have any doubt. However, it stated that the Naga issue is a very sensitive issue so it expects FNR to apply “political wisdom in the right prescriptive”.
“One wrong move could cause more chaos than good and the end result could be group polarization. The NNC (NA) also look forward that FNR will adopt the policy of inclusiveness and bring all Naga political group under its ambit so as to let a sense of oneness prevail among the Nagas.”
The NNC (NA) also strongly endorse the position of GPRN/NSCN ‘chairman gen. (Rtd)’ Khole Konyak and ‘general secretary’ N Kitovi Zhimomi wherein they have stated that unless a clear status of the political talks between NSCN (IM) and GOI is laid bare before the Naga people, the question of supporting or opposing the talk does not arise.
“The NNC (NA) does not support or oppose any Naga Political group but which ever group is negotiating with GOI should let the Naga people known the status if the talk because you are taking the destiny of the Nagas along with you,” the note added.
