Says ANGCTA’s demand and stand ‘contradictory’
Dimapur, March 23 (MExN): The Nagaland NET Qualified Forum (NNQF) on March 23 responded to the All Nagaland Government College Teachers Association (ANGCTA)’s recent letters to the Higher and Technical Education Minister and the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) on March 21.
The Forum pointed out that any delay or postponement of the NPSC-CESE as demanded by the ANGCTA would only increase the plight of numerous qualified aspirants in the State.
NNQF said that while the Association expressed their support for direct recruitment through the NPSC, their attempt to halt the Common Educational Services Exam, 2019, is a direct contradiction to their stand.
Further, the Forum enquired “on what grounds the Review Committee report on the Nagaland Higher Education Service Rules, 2015 affects the recruitment of Assistant Professors through NPSC-CESE.”
It also appealed to the ANGCTA to make public the contents of the report and the set up of the review committee as the Forum is “not privy to such report.”
It also said that the usage of the term ‘discrepancies’ used by ANGCTA, was “vague and requires clarification.”
“In their letter to the NPSC, the ANGCTA also mentioned the incorporation of the new 2018 UGC Regulations in the review report, but has not specified what has been added or changed. Such lack of transparency solicits unwelcomed suspicion,” it added.
NNQF noted that in both the 2019 press statement and recent letter to the minister, the ANGCTA had pointed out the plight of contract teachers who are already over aged and many on the verge due to no conduct of timely recruitment process.
“ANGCTA, then, must also put into perspective the plight of the many other qualified aspirants who have similarly become over aged and are on the verge of becoming over aged for the very same reasons,” NNQF stated.
The Forum commended the NPSC for advertising the 105 posts requisitioned by the Higher Education and asked the Commission not to delay the conduct of the NPSC-CESE 2019.
