A new year has already started, it’s that time of the year again when we made resolution ,to do away with certain negative habits like smoking ,drinking ,swearing, anger or on more positive traits like to wake up more early ,to be more hardworking ,to get better grades in class, excel in sport ,to do more for our society, for the Christian to be more morally upright ,more prayerful, loving or whatever according to each individual choice. We all at a certain point of our life resolve to do away with what we think is certain negative traits and cultivate some positive traits, after that we consciously or carefully follow that resolve for a few days, weeks or even months till it become cumbersome or tiresome then we become increasingly frustrated, increasingly defeated to a point where it become meaningless and we tend to forget the whole thing, we are back to square one to where we are exactly before. Paul in New Testament bible commented “woe is me, because my flesh does what my spirit does not wish to do”. I believe it got to do with the fallen Nature of man since Adam. When Men in his capacity resolve and fail ,he become Frustrated ,feel defeated , a sense of lose engulf him, he lose self esteem, can become depressed, withdrawn or can blame it on someone ,people ,Community, race and in extreme case can lead to a desire for revenge on that particular person, community or race , engulfing our whole being with bitterness, rage, remorse and hatred ,exploding hurting our near and dear one, loved ones, friends , other people or community .
History has recorded such events, the bitterly fought WWII is a grim reminder of the seed of such frustrating resolve at any cost to unite Germany or to propel Germany to greater heights by the dictates of one bitter man supported by equally resolute men by whatever means, I need not dwell on the horror or the lose humanity have suffered or endured because of that. Presently we each individual may not led to such catastrophe such as history have recorded, yet many today are because of such fail resolve knowingly or unknowingly hurting our near and dear one, we are sad, depressed or contemplating, thinking where we could have gone wrong, working to overcome shortcoming, or ashamed of our weakness ,our conscious pricking at our failure, sometime confuse, or just to forget the entire stuff, the world call it identity crisis a phase of growing up, experiment, a stage of evolving ,compounding our confusing with what they called proven Research paper finding ,Laboratory experiments, findings of eminent socialist, Economist, psychologist’s philosophy’s ,writer’s ,thinker’s ,etc in our endless quest to become a better person, more successful financially, more popular ,get power full, to get control of other ,gain respect and honor of other men, each according to his /her desire, the list is endless.
Men since his fallen nature desires in his heart to become a better men consciously or unconsciously ,that what we call the better men, the bible called it the new men or born again (and says that unless a men is born again he will not enter into the kingdom of God) the bible ( John Chapter ;3:1-10)records a conversation between Jesus and a Pharisees name Nicodemus when Jesus said “yea shall not enter into the kingdom of God unless yea are born again” an astonish bewildered Nicodemus answered Him how can that be , a grown men to enter into the mother womb and be born again(we do not have that even with today’s technology) but I believe that’s what we do exactly having faith in our capacity, trusting self control ,experience of some suppose person who said it deem possible, books, Scientists, Doctors ,missing the whole subtle but basic truth that nothing is possible without Jesus. Dismissing the truth as being too simple, too common, too religious, not high techs, not-in thing, not cool, as old fashion. woe unto us, how we have suffered for it and are still suffering for still by our own will and not the Father’s will, not through prayer but in our own capacity, grit and determination (I plead thee to give me thy wisdom to choose and do it thy Will).I believe that it is not wrong to make a resolution ,to become better, improve self, to do certain thing ,to achieve certain goal etc,but ‘No resolution is possible without Christ’ i.e. to become a new men because Jesus is our resolution(new men), the resolution of men without Jesus has led to destruction, lost, bitterness, or to point that even if we think we have achieve certain success, but has come at such a heavy cost that we are not sure whether it is worth it,( I am sadden with that thought),what is going to be our resolution for the year 2012 or for that matter the resolution of our life?
Dear Nagas, the high and the mighty the low, the leaders both over ground and underground, the common men? Shall we continue in our wisdom? looking at the world scenario, its politically, its climatic, it economic etc I believe the year 2012 is going to be a turbulent year, a year mark by events unprecedented before, testing the hearts of man, but if our resolves is on the lord all will go well with us, and we shall go from strength to strength, from victory to victory but before that shall we “seek yea first the Kingdom of God” for all those things to follow. Decide my fellow men, shall we trust our infallible God or men’s wisdom. May God give true wisdom to our leaders, parents, and youth, to make resolve in our Lord, God bless my Nagaland.
