Encouraging participants of the “What You Will” Competition organised as part of the 5th Edition of Nagaland Literature Festival (NLF) 2025 on December 13, Azi Nienu, member of Tetseo Sisters, said that no stage is small, and that everybody has to start somewhere.
She was speaking as one of the judges wherein she also dwelt on the NLF theme, “Art & Artifice: Storytelling in the Age of AI”, and noted that, “AI will never stop my need to create” and underscored that all art forms start within while encouraging the artists to keep creating.
Mengu Suokhrie highlighted that the competition was judged on the basis of delivery and how the participants connected with the crowd through their performances. She also congratulated all the participants for taking courage to share their talents with everyone and encouraged them to keep sharing and growing whenever they get the chance.
Akavi recalled that he was also once a participant while expressing that, “we all start somewhere being cringed”, but encouraged them to keep going.
Muile Samuel Anar emerged the winner of the competition while Sedevikho Metha won the second prize and Diethosino Bio won the third prize. The winners won a cash prize of Rs 10,000, Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively.
Mention may be made here that ‘What You Will’ is the alternative or subtitle of Shakespeare’s timeless romantic comedy ‘Twelfth Night’ where the plot revolves around mistaken identities, romantic confusion, disguise and music. Taking inspiration from the play, the theme of the competition reflects the festive spirit of the holiday season and an invitation to take part in creative merriment.
Participants are invited and encouraged to interpret the theme in various artistic forms.
