Dimapur, January 10 (MExN): Inaugurating the Darogajan village gate (Hurlai), Azheto Zhimomi, MLA and Advisor, Sericulture and Co-operation disclosed that “the government will accommodate all the teachers (listed as bogus teachers) before the academic season starts.”
120 years after its establishment, Darogajan village got its village gate (Hurlai) as Azheto Zhimomi inaugurated the gate as chief guest on January 10.
A press note received here said that addressing villagers who comprises of various Naga tribes and Kacharis, the chief guest said the construction of village gate is a memorable and significant work for it will be the identity of the village. He lauded the village leaders and elders for the achievement which shows the hard work, sincerity and dedication put in by them in constructing the gate, adding that it was one of the best village gate build at average budget.
On the governance of DAN government, Azheto commented that since the formation of DAN government in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio no tribe or community has been deprived and especially minority communities/tribes have been priority, which the people should not forget and honor the good governance of DAN.
He maintained that there is all round development in the state because the government is stable and in order to allow more development to take place people must support the government to be stable.
He further stated that the government also changed its policy and communitized all the departments so that rural people could enjoy maximum privilege and benefit in the development of the village. He therefore urged the villagers to elect honest and upright people to head various development boards in the village who would not misappropriate the village development funds serve the interest of the village.
Delivering a short speech, Dipti Kumar Barman, retired additional commissioner of Taxes, Nagaland shared the history of the village in brief and said it is the responsible of the village to maintain the gate, which is a visible and significant development that the government has presented to the village.
While felicitating the dignitaries, Vitokhu Achumi, Chairman, Darogajan Village Council said the village gate was long felt desire of the villagers that has been realized through the help of Azheto Zhimomi, who represents Dimapur-III A/C in the Assembly. On behalf of the villagers, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the chief guest. The village gate was constructed under LADP fund 2011-12, he said.
Ranjit Khemprai, head GB of the village delivered welcome address, Anirudha Jigdong, head priest of the village said the invocation, Rishiraj Girisa, Secretary, Darogajan Village Council chaired the function and Anup Naben proposed vote of thanks.
