Noklak gets its first IOC filling station

Noklak, October 25 (MExN): The first Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) Ltd filling station in Noklak Hq. was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Noklak, Reny Wilfred on October 24.

The station is located at Pangsha road below Nokyan village, in Noklak.

Speaking on the occasion, Wilfred said that the opening of the filling station was the first milestone achieved after the formation of district and expressed his appreciation to NGOs and civil organisations for their support. 

Till date, customers in the district have been dependent on private sector for their fuel needs and the district administration have not been in a position to effectively control over frequent shortage situations, he stated, according to a DIPR report. 

However, he expressed hope that the problem would be solved and the IOC would flourish in Noklak district.

Road connectivity – next milestone on target 
Meanwhile, expressing concern over the road connectivity from Chendang Saddle to Noklak Hq as well as various administrative circles specifically Thonoknyu, Wilfred said that ensuring the same should be the next milestone. 

Initiatives have already begun to get special provision to ensure good road where landslide can be cleared at the earlier stage, he said. 

With the support of public, elective representatives and public leaders, he expressed hope that all-weather road connectivity would be made available in the district, the DIPR report said.  

“When there is better road connectivity, price of essential commodities will be low,” he was further quoted as saying.  

Proprietor of Noklak Filling Station H Thangsoi, President, Khiamniungan Tribal Council, Ngon and President, Thang Range Public Organization, Hangthing also spoke during the occasion.

Dedicatory prayer of Noklak Filling Station was led by Pastor, Longdon Baptist Church Rev B Chillia.

The programme, chaired by P Khumo, among others, was attended by SDO (C) C Phuniang, EAC, KTC, KSU, KMH, TRPO, DBs & GBs and representatives from different societies of Noklak town and neighboring villages.
