Fire and Emergency Services, Nagaland conducts training in the SP Office, Noklak.
Noklak, July 1 (MExN): Fire and Emergency Services, Nagaland conducted a training on managing fire emergencies in the SP Office, Noklak.
OC Fire Services, Thenousielie Pielie gave training on managing gas cylinders during fire incidents at home, how to switch off regulators, electrical short circuit fires, use of fire extinguishers, helping victims to reach safe places with help of locally made stretchers with bamboo or cloth or by joining hand to hand techniques of firefighters, use of sand buckets near electrical appliances etc.
SP Noklak, Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS explained on administrating first aid to the victims, wearing gloves or clothes etc before helping wounded victims to prevent infection. Jungle fires are common in hills, hence wearing helmets or covering with extra clothes on head and body is very important, she said.
A press release received here said that the training was initiated after the recent fire incident at Pangsha where two houses were gutted. Factor like distance, makes it difficult to reach the incident site on time, and therefore, the need to train everyone to manage fire emergencies in initial basis before firefighters or other helps was identified.
Earlier, invocation was said by Mano, Chaplain Police Baptist Church, Noklak, Vote of thanks was given by Khiamniungan tribal council, President Thangou and the programme was chaired by Mongthei, UBSI Noklak Police. It was attended by KTC President, KMH President, TRPO, Mahila President, Village Guards, Dobashi, RHQ Noklak police and students union president.
It was further informed that village level training will be conducted in coming months.
