Atoizu, May 15 (MExN): A team led by Akangmeren Imchen, Scientist C from the Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) conducted a presentation on the Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules, 2026, on May 14 at the office chamber of the Chairperson, Atoizu Town Council, for the officers of District Administration, members and staff of the Town Council.
The programme focused on proper municipal solid waste management practices, environmental protection measures, waste segregation, scientific disposal mechanisms, and the responsibilities of Urban Local Bodies under the applicable environmental laws and regulations.
Following the presentation, the team also visited the waste dumping site under the jurisdiction of the Atoizu Town Council, with Extra Assistant Commissioner Atoizu and members of Atoizu Town Council, for field inspection and assessment of the existing waste management system and disposal practices.
