Dimapur, August 26 (MExN): The Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) has directed producers, recyclers, and retreaders of waste tyres to comply with the provisions of Schedule IX of Rule 9(4) of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Amendment Rules, 2022.

In a notification, the NPCB stated that all relevant entities must immediately apply for registration on the portal developed by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) at https://eprtyres.cpcb.gov.in/ and obtain consent or renewal of consent from the NPCB to operate legally in the State.

The board cautioned that action will be initiated under the Environmental Acts and Rules against operators engaging in illegal recycling or retreading of tyres without valid consent from the NPCB or registration on the CPCB portal.

The NPCB also urged the general public to report any illegal tyre recycling or retreading operations to the board via email at npcb2@yahoo.com](mailto:npcb2@yahoo.com) or by phone at 9366530861.
