NPCC, PGC demand immediate release of stipends for ITI students

Kohima, August 22 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee, Public Grievances Cell (NPCC, PGC) has demanded for immediate release of stipends for students under eight districts of the Industrial Training Institute (ITI).

In a letter addressed to the Director, Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Nagaland, the NPCC, PGC highlighted that the stipend allocated for each trainee is Rs 500/month, which amount to Rs 6000 annually.

“It has been learnt that the stipend has not been released for the trainees starting from the year 2020 till 2023 for all 8 (eight) districts Industrial Training Institute namely Kohima, Dimapur, Wokha, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon, Phek, and Kiphire,” it stated. 

The NPCC, PGC inquired “the concerned authority as to why the stipend was not released to those students who have even completed their courses including the students under training and also demands for clarifications on this matter.” 

It therefore demanded for immediate release of stipend amount to those who have completed their course during the mentioned period of years and to those students pursuing their course at present without any further delay. “Failing which the Grievances cell will adopt other democratic means to let justice be prevalent,” the letter cautioned.
