NPCC’s text book salvo for NPF

DIMAPUR OCT 25 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has alleged that the NPF hurriedly adopting measures to check the mismanagement of  free Text Book distribution, vindicates the stand of the congress that the scheme was without a proper procedure and showed the ulterior motive of the “then Minister of school Education.” TL Merry Media Secretary-cum-Spokesperson in a press release stated that the ‘dusts’ rose by the free text books scam have settled down and a clear picture had emerged.

In this regard, the NPCC alleged that the very fact of the DOSE adopting measures to check the mismanagement of free text book distribution namely, issuance of specific instructions to the publisher to print a ‘Not for sale’ tag to avoid middlemen, setting up of a common store at Dimapur and naming of a Nodal officer who would be responsible for distribution in all districts et al, only vindicates the Congress’ earlier stand that the scheme was implemented in a hurry and without proper procedure. “Which only shows the ulterior motives of the then Minister of School Education” stated the release.

The NPCC further alleged that the concerned minister slept over the scheme and “woke up suddenly” to implement the same only after being elected to the post of NPF president, reflected his hidden agenda. Moreover, the supply order was awarded in favor of his son without observing proper formalities, it added.

Alleging that the ‘indefensible acts’ were available on records proving beyond doubt that the concerned Minister had misused his position and power of the high public office to aggrandize his position, the NPCC questioned whether the Chief Minister would drop the ‘guilty’ minister from the council of Ministers and disown the corruption charges “or leave it to the Governor to exercise his constitutional power”.
