Chümoukedima, September 20 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) organised a prayer fellowship for theological students from the Tangsa, Nocte, Wancho and Tutsa tribes of Arunachal Pradesh who are studying in Nagaland, at Hotel Season, Chümoukedima on September 20.
The fellowship was organised to support and encourage students from neighbouring Naga communities. It began with Scripture reading and invocation by Atoi, Associate Pastor (Women), KBCC. Bursaries were distributed to the students under the NPF Bursary Project. Pastor Apong of YBC, Chümoukedima offered special prayers for the students, their studies and future ministry.
Anon Arangham of UCTM, Chümoukedima, speaking on behalf of the students, thanked the NPF for the support.
Vice President, NPF (COB) Kekongchim Yimkhiung said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio, NPF President and Secretary General Achumbemo Kikon, the party reaches out to Nagas "beyond artificial boundaries."
He said the NPF was "not only a political party" but also represented Naga identity rooted in shared culture and history. He encouraged the students to promote Nagaism and unity among Nagas of Arunachal Pradesh. Yimkhiung said many Arunachal Nagas were losing touch with Nagaism and urged the students to preserve and strengthen the shared identity.
The NPF said the initiative reaffirmed its commitment to supporting theological students and strengthening fellowship among Naga communities across State boundaries.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Vice President, NPF (COB) H. Angnyei Konyak and concluded with his remarks.
