DIMAPUR, JUNE 18 (MExN): The Opposition Congress party in Nagaland has expressed serious concern that the NPF-DAN government through its “sheer policy of self aggrandizement” had used the Special Development Fund (SDF) amounting to a whooping sum of Rs 1000 lakhs (2011-2012) by diverting it for its “own selfish benefits”. A press note from the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) also alleged that funds from this has been given to NPF leaders and “people who are having close proximity with the high ups like hot cakes”.
The SDF list of beneficiaries obtained by the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee from Planning Department through RTI has listed among others some prominent church leaders. “The NPCC leave it to the public to form their own judgment as to whether NPF Government is working for the welfare of the needy people or filling their own pockets including that of their near and dear ones”, the NPCC stated in a press note issued by Khuosatho, Vice President and Aheto Yepthomi, General Secretary of the NPCC.
