Kohima, August 25 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) warmly welcomed the recent ‘historic’ gathering of Naga Political Groups (NPGs), tribal hohos, and the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) at Ungma village in Mokokchung, which resulted in the issuance of the ‘Ungma Statement.’

In a statement, the party said the coming together of different groups is a “clear sign that unity and reconciliation are possible when leaders and people choose dialogue and understanding.”

The NPF Press Bureau in a press release stated that the party appreciated the “tireless efforts” of the FNR, the “wisdom” of the NPG leaders, the “guidance” of tribal hohos, and the “hospitality” of the Ao Senden and the Ungma community for making the meeting a success.

“The NPF believes that the spirit shown at Ungma is a ray of hope for the Naga people and will strengthen the journey towards an honorable and lasting solution,” the party stated.

The party appealed to all Nagas to continue supporting this “spirit of oneness with prayer, goodwill, and cooperation.”

NPF assured its “full support and solidarity to every sincere effort that works for peace, unity, and the political aspirations of the Naga people.”
