NPF Legislature Party for ‘amicable settlement’

Dimapur, June 15 (MExN): The NPF Legislature Party today addressed the ‘impasse’ between the State Government and the National Health Mission Employees Association, Nagaland (NEAN) stating that “amicable settlement to the imbroglio is a prerequisite in tackling COVID-19 in the State.”

In a press communiqué on June 15, NPF Legislature Party said that the State cabinet’s decision was “haphazard and unsystematic” and pointed out that “the grievances of NEAN are genuine and their cause deserves all out support.”

“It failed to address the grievances of NEAN while deciding on regularization of contract appointees which has given birth to the present crisis and for which the State Government must own complete responsibility,” the release stated.

However, considering the COVID- pandemic and the shortage of medical professionals working on the ground, it observed that the day-to-day functioning of Hospitals and Health Centers including Quarantine Centers will be immensely affected by the ‘cease work.’ As such, the NPF Legislature Party urged the State Government and NEAN to come to the negotiating table and hammer out a solution without further delay.
