Dimapur, November 8 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Minority Wing, Central, held the oath-taking ceremony for its newly elected Central Office Bearers on November 8 at the NPF Division Office, Dimapur.
Incumbent Minority Wing President, Bishnu Bhattacharjee will lead a new team comprising of 3 Working Presidents— Apun Naben, Mahendra Thousen, and Mahesh Agarwal; 5 Vice Presidents— Omprakash Sethi, Devendra Rana, Shiv Kumar BK, Roshan Tamang, and Makhan Chetia; and 4 General Secretaries—Roshan BK, Prashad Pandey, Arun Kumar Mishra, and Keshab Momin.
According to a press release, several senior party leaders, including Senior Working President (Central) Pusazo Lürüo, and Central Office Bearers (COB), Vice President, Pushika Aomi; General Secretary Dr Kashito Kiba, General Secretary, SK Khemprai addressed the gathering.
Lürüo, who administered the oath, lauded the activities and contributions of the Minority Wing and encouraged members to continue working with dedication.
The release said that Vice President, COB, Pushika Aomi stressed on greater participation by the non-Naga citizens of Dimapur in the state’s political process. He reminded that one seat— 1 Dimapur-I Assembly Constituency is an open seat for all, which non-Nagas can contest if they wish to contribute to politics and become part of the policymaking and intellectual body working to strengthen and develop Nagaland.
General Secretary (COB), SK Khemprai, highlighted the need for unity and service-oriented leadership, stating that minority leaders should work for the party, the government, and for the community. He also stressed the importance of maintaining harmony and unity among all members to strengthen the party’s foundation.
In his Presidential address, Bishnu Bhattacharjee expressed confidence in the new office bearers, describing them as qualified, dedicated, and committed members who will work to strengthen the NPF and serve the people of Nagaland through development and welfare initiatives.
He also lauded the support of party President, and Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, and Secretary General Achumbemo Kikon, noting that the Minority Wing was constituted to embrace all voters of the state.
