Peren | December 8: The 6th Convention of NPF Peren division was held today at Jalukie town. While welcoming the newly inducted leaders, Planning minister TR Zeliang expressed his appreciation to the outgoing leaders saying it is ‘magnanimity’ and commendable. He appealed that both the old and new leaders work in proper coordination and urged all rank and files of the party to learn from mistakes, consult one another, be alert and be systematic from the central level till the village units.
Party workers encouraged to be willing to sacrifice The minister also asked party men and women to be willing to sacrifice and possess the spirit of helping people at all times. “Leaders, work hard and no simply roaming with name plates and party flags, be willing to sacrifice and help; this way we win people’s sympathy and support”, he said. Zeliang also asked the party leaders to play value politics with respect for politics and sincerely identify ‘who is who’ and not be confused. “Learn what the ruling party has done for the mass and give fitting reply to any queries” he said while insisting that all party leaders ought to learn the achievements of the NPF led DAN government.
Speaking on the issue of shifting Peren DC headquarter, the minister said as the Zeliangrong Baudi which is a mandated organization to represent DPDB meeting of the district has appealed for early shifting lest it becomes a jungle, the meeting inclusive of all departmental officers have willingly decided to form shifting committee and plan for early shifting latest by January 2012.
With regard to basic amenities, the minister assured of water supply to the model town within a week’s time and temporary power supply at the earliest. He appealed the leaders and the public of the district to be thankful to the CM and not to depress but instead encourage early settlement and development of the one and only model township of North east India. The bridge that links the state’s model township will be inaugurated on 13th December and allotment of public plots will be carried out after proper design of the master plan so that it really carry the tag “model town”.
Handing and taking over of charge for Women, Youth and Farmers wing of NPF and public speeches from 6 Tening A/C, 7 Peren A/C, Peren Division were the main highlights of the convention. Denis Elunglung, Manuel Kamson and Aliam were inducted as Presidents of Division, 7 Peren A/C and 6 Tening A/C respectively.
