‘NPF planning to spread its wings to Naga inhabited areas in Myanmar’

Kiphire, May 13 (MExN): The NPF of 58th Shamator-Chessore Assembly Constituency has reaffirmed support to the candidature of parliamentary secretary R Tohanba, in the 2013 assembly elections. 

This was one of the three resolutions adopted at the 58th Shamator-Chessore NPF A/C party rally held at public ground, Shamator, on Tuesday last which was attended, among others, by Tohanba, the sitting legislator of the constituency and the 11-member central NPF team currently touring 9 assembly seats. 

The NPF Shamator-Chessore A/c also appreciated the NPF-led DAN government under leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio and NPF president Dr. Shurhozelie for all-round development of the four backward districts (eastern Nagaland), especially Shamator-Chessore area, and for ushering peace and prosperity in the state. In a boost to the sitting legislators, leaders and party workers from political parties like the Congress and BJP also publicly declared their resignation from respective parties and pledged to support Tohanba in the forthcoming election. 

The parliamentary secretary in his address acknowledged the sacrifices of the NPF central team led by NPF vice president, Pusazo Luruo, for the arduous task of touring the backward districts to boost the party and garner support of the public.  Tohanba highlighted the multi-dimensional developmental activities undertaken by the government in the backward districts in the past nine years. He assured that the NPF-led DAN government’s concern for the neglected regions would continue and appealed the public of his constituency to support the NPF even in the next polls so that they can reap the harvest in a grander manner next time. 

The parliamentary secretary further informed that the NPF was planning to spread its wings even to Naga inhabited areas in Myanmar and reiterated chief minister Neiphiu Rio’s statement that NPF is regional in character, national in outlook and global in act. 

Public leaders of the area, party workers and leaders form other political parties who have joined the NPF in their speeches pledged to work tirelessly for the party and their candidate Tohanba in the next elections.
