Tseminyu, March 29 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Tseminyu Division held a meeting on March 28, where party leaders from unit to central levels reaffirmed unity and commitment to the party’s core principles.

The meeting highlighted the party’s 62-year legacy and its focus on achieving a lasting political solution to the Naga issue.

Speaking on the occasion, R Khing, former minister and member of the Core Committee, reflected on the party’s journey since 1963, including its near-extinction in 2002-03 and the formation of a new party in 2017 due to ideological differences. He urged members to remain united and supportive under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio, stating that “even with one MLA seat, we are not behind anyone in the state.”

Ar Loguseng Semp, former candidate and CEC member, traced the party’s origins to the Indo-Naga conflict and called for restoring its image, asserting that party interest must remain paramount.

During the Central Office Bearers’ tour, Daniel Tep, Working President, stressed organisational discipline and grassroots coordination, while Benjamin Lorin, Vice President and COB Division in-charge, termed the NDPP-NPF merger a strategic move linked to the Indo-Naga political issue.

The programme featured an invocation by Ndotsü Kent and welcome address by Ahino Tep, along with speeches from central youth, women and farmers’ wings. Akenyu Semp also made a special appearance.

The meeting concluded with a resolve to strengthen the party ahead of the upcoming elections.
