NPF urges govt for early political solution

Dimapur, December 15 (MExN): The Naga People's Front (NPF) Legislature Party held its meeting on December 15 at the residence of its Leader, TR Zeliang.

According to a press release issued by NPF Legislature Party, the party, while expressing anguish and frustration over the unreasonable delay for the Naga Political solution, placed on record "its relentless desire for an honourable and acceptable political solution to the protracted Indo-Naga political issue and called upon the Government of India under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to bring the issue to its logical conclusion before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections are held."

“It is almost a year since the election to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly was conducted with the slogan ‘Election for Solution’ by the BJP Party and yet the silence over the issue of Naga political settlement is deafening,” it said.

“For how long will the Government of India drag the issue and delay in granting an amicable and honourable solution?” it further questioned.
The party therefore, appealed to the Government of India and all Naga Nationalist Groups to arrive at an amicable settlement at the earliest for permanent peace. It also urged the Government of India to welcome NSCN-K representative(s) for signing Ceasefire Agreement to join the dialogue at the earliest.
