Kohima, May 21 (MExN): NPF Central Youth Wing in its meeting held on May 19 resolved to appeal to all the DAN legislators to remain steadfast to the commitment made to the new leadership and ensure smooth functioning of the government and party in the days to come. According to a press release issued by the president of the youth wing, Kakuto Shohe, the house resolved to extend its sincere appreciation to NPF President Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, senior party functionaries, all the DAN legislators for ensuing smooth and safe transition of the new leadership.
It further congratulated TR Zeliang who was unanimously elected as the new leader of the NPF led DAN Legislature Party and resolved to extend its full support and cooperation to the new leadership.
The meeting also resolved to appeal the BJP leadership at the Centre to accord/accommodate Neiphiu Rio in the NDA Ministry as per pre-poll commitment of the BJP.
The NPF Youth Wing, the release said, had a thorough deliberation on the post Lok Sabha Election result of the outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and resolved to express its profound gratitude for their support to the NPF candidate, though the latter lost by a slight margin. The NPF felt that with the defeat of the NPF candidate, Nagas in Manipur have lost the best ever opportunity in the political history of Manipur. The house, however, resolved to work towards reconsolidating and strengthening the position of NPF party in Manipur in the days to come.
