DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 23 (MExN): NPF candidate for the 4 Ghaspani I Assembly Constituency, Vicca S Aye today announced that he has bowed out of the February 23 Nagaland Assembly Elections. In a press conference on February 23, Aye claimed that the decision was taken in consultation with other NPF leaders and workers both in his constituency and the central party leadership. Aye said that he submitted his declaration to “retire from the election” to the Returning Officer on February 22 and the same was accepted on February 23. The 4 Ghaspani I Assembly Constituency now has 4 candidates in the fray—incumbent Jacob Zhimomi of the BJP; Akavi N Zhimomi of the Congress; Imsumongba Pongen of the JD (U); and independent candidate, P Phushika Awomi.
