
Dimapur, August 4 (MExN): The NPGN/NNC has expressed sorrow over the passing of Dr Hokishe Yepthomi, former President of the Sumi Hoho and former Chairman of the Sumi Literature Board (SLB). In a condolence message issued by its MIP, the NPGN/NNC stated that Dr Yepthomi’s “tireless contributions to the Sumi and Naga communities, marked by principled leadership, visionary guidance, and selfless service, will forever be remembered.” The message described him as “a champion of unity, culture, and justice” and acknowledged his instrumental role in shaping the collective identity of the communities. It further noted his dedication to the Naga cause and unwavering commitment to social welfare, saying it had left “an indelible mark.” “On behalf of the NPGN/NNC Government, we extend heartfelt condolences to the family and pray that his soul rests in eternal peace. May his legacy continue to inspire future generations,” it added.
