KOHIMA, August 25 (MExN): The National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland State Unit hailed the recent gathering at Ungma village in Mokokchung stating “history was written” where the Naga Political Groups (NPGs), tribal hohos, and the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) “stood together and declared the Ungma Statement — a bold message that unity is not beyond reach.”

In a press release, NPP Nagaland media cell said that for decades, Naga people have longed for healing and an honourable solution, what unfolded at Ungma “is more than an agreement; it is the spark of a collective awakening that dialogue and reconciliation are stronger than division.”

The NPP Nagaland applauded the “tireless role of the FNR, the courage of Naga leaders, the wisdom of tribal hohos, and the open-hearted hospitality of the Ao Senden and the Ungma community,” adding that “their efforts have proven that hope can be turned into action.”

“The NPP calls upon every Naga to keep this flame of oneness alive — in prayer, in goodwill, and in cooperation,” the release stated. The party reaffirmed its “full support to any sincere effort that advances unity, peace, and the political aspirations of our people.”
