The National People’s Party and National People’s Women’s Front, Kohima District organised a consultative meeting and mass felicitation programme at the NPP Kohima District office on September 20.

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 20 (MExN): The National People’s Party (NPP) and National People’s Women’s Front (NPWF) Kohima District on Saturday organised a consultative meeting and mass felicitation programme at the NPP Kohima District office. The event drew women from across the district in support of greater political participation and grassroots leadership.
National President of NPWF, Aneü Khaming, and State Working President of NPP, Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, MLA from Kohima Town, addressed the gathering. Khaming underlined the role of women in strengthening democracy and community welfare, while Dr Rhütso urged NPWF members to remain strong and steadfast in their political journey. He said efforts, sacrifices and dedication would yield results, and stressed the Front’s role in inclusive politics, leadership training and support for women candidates in local bodies.
The programme began with an invocation prayer by Helen, Vice President of NPWF Kohima, followed by a welcome address from Dr Keviseto, President of NPP Kohima District, who highlighted the importance of women’s active role in decision-making and grassroots development. The meeting was chaired by Kikrusonuo, President of NPWF Kohima.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Alebu Sanchu, General Secretary of NPWF Kohima, who acknowledged the contributions of leaders, newly inducted members and volunteers. The Kohima District NPWF Committee also pledged to continue outreach to ensure women’s representation at every level of public life.
