NPYF pleas ‘Pink Scooty’ scheme for Dimapur

Dimapur, March 31 (MExN): The National People’s Youth Front (NPYF), Dimapur District appealed the State Government to include Dimapur district in the piloted “Pink Scooty” scheme aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs.

While appreciating the initiative of the Government to launch the scheme in selected districts—Kohima, Mokokchung and Chümoukedima, NPYF Dimapur expressed concern over the exclusion of Dimapur, which is one of the largest commercial hubs of Nagaland and home to a significant number of aspiring women entrepreneurs.

NPYF Dimapur district President Zato Sumi in a press release stated that Dimapur district offers immense potential for the success of such a scheme, given its strategic location, economic activity, and growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. He added that inclusion of Dimapur would not only ensure equitable distribution of government initiatives but also significantly boost women-led businesses and livelihood opportunities in the district.

NPYF Dimapur firmly believed that extending the scheme to Dimapur will amplify the impact of the government’s vision for women empowerment and inclusive development across Nagaland.

It urged the State Government to reconsider its decision and include Dimapur in the pilot phase of the Pink Scooty scheme. The front also affirmed to remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote youth and women empowerment and looks forward to a positive response from the Government.
