Dimapur, March 30 (MExN): Nagaland Spotlight Connect (NS Connect), in collaboration with My Bharat, organised a district-level sports meet at Junkyard Turf on March 28, featuring the Community Cup 2026.
The event aimed to encourage youth participation and foster unity, teamwork and community representation through sports, with teams from various institutions and local communities taking part.
District Youth Officer K Manikanta, in his opening address, urged youth to actively engage in sports and community-building initiatives. He also highlighted the My Bharat initiative and its role in empowering young people through structured activities, leadership opportunities and nation-building efforts.
In the women’s tug of war event, Salt Christian College emerged winners after a spirited performance.
In the men’s category, Slim Fit FC (Jr.) clinched the championship title, while Government College Dimapur finished runners-up.
The Community Cup 2026 provided a platform for youth engagement, promoting sportsmanship, discipline and inter-community bonding, in line with NS Connect’s vision of strengthening grassroots sports in Nagaland.
