The 9th phase of multi media campaign initiated by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) under National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India is under way with the theme “Know your HIV status. Get tested and treated.”
Thejangunuo, Deputy Director (IEC) in a press release stated that the programme is organized since 2009 with the objective to capitalize on the popularity of music among the youth and draw the attention of young people and spread HIV awareness in the state through music. It aims to promote awareness to people that effective prevention for HIV/AIDS is possible. The campaign also aims to educate the general populace that compassion and support should be given to those infected or affected by HIV/AIDS to live a life without stigma and discrimination.
Entries for the competition are open till November 1 and the genre should be Indie rock. There will be three zones for selection to the district audition Dimapur (Dimapur, Peren and Mon), Kohima (Kohima, Wokha, Phek and Kiphire) and Mokokchung (Mokokchung, Zunheboto, Tuensang and Longleng). Interested bands can submit entries to their respective zonal districts. For the entries, each band should send an audio format demo copy of their original song based on HIV/AIDS or Drug Abused, the band's photographs, bio-data, lyrics sheet and contact details.

The selected bands will be provided with honorarium to meet their travel expenses food and accommodation on requirement for participation at the district level audition. After screening of entries, the selected bands will be called for the district auditions on November 15 Interaction to the selected bands will be done through the contact details provided.
Two bands will be selected from each zonal district and they will compete at the state level which will be held on November 26, and the winner of the competition will represent the state at the 2nd Northeast Multiple Media campaign to be held at Imphal, Manipur on December 18.
