Kohima, May 1 (MExN): Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd, the only apex-level agriculture credit institute in the state, has played a major role in providing credit needs both in the urban and rural farmers and artisans.
This institution is the only financing agency under cooperative sector. It also provides a large number of extension services in the field of livestock and purchase of agriculture implements.
The bank has network of 21 branches covering the far-flung areas in the state.
In addition to normal functions, the bank acted as Project Implementing Agency at Mokokchung, Wokha, Phek and Tuensang.
According to the administrative report of the department of cooperation, the state government has sanctioned Rs. 13 crore as state share capital of NSCB Ltd during 2005-06.
