NSCN (IM) acknowledges support during Th Muivah’s homecoming visit

Dimapur, November 2 (MExN): The Organising Committee of the NSCN (IM) General Secretary/Ato Kilonser's homecoming visit to his birthplace, Somdal Village expressed its gratitude to various Naga organisations and community members for their role in successful event.

The week-long events, held on October 22 in Ukhrul and October 29 in Taharnzam (Senapati), included a Homecoming ceremony and a Civic Reception in honour of Muivah and his entourage. 

According to the Organising Committee, the unprecedented public gatherings, marked by the waving of the Naga national flag, were a historic demonstration of community support and unity.

The committee specifically acknowledged the contributions of the United Naga Council (UNC) and its subordinates, Naga People’s Organization (NPO), All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) and its subordinates, Naga Women Union (NWU) and its subordinates, Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights-South (NPMHR-S), Church leaders, Naga Village Chief Federation (NVCF) and its subordinates, as well as students, teachers, and tribal choirs from Ukhrul and Taharnzam.

Further, it extended appreciation to Meetei civil organisations, Meetei-Pangal civil organizations, Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, and Gorkha Union for their participation and solidarity.

Donors who contributed financially or materially were also thanked for their support in ensuring the events’ success.

The committee further acknowledged the cooperation of the Government of India, district administrations of Ukhrul and Senapati, traffic police, doctors, nurses, and various departments.

Th Muivah and his wife also received gifts from community members, which were described as deeply cherished.

The warm reception and active participation of people from all walks of life made the events historic and meaningful, and expressed hope for continued support in future initiatives, it added.
