Dimapur, December 19 (MExN): The Central Administrative Officer NSCN (IM) Zeilad Region has expressed shock and condoled the demise of Sergeant Ramreikan Shimray, Wung Tangkhul Region, Nganping Battalion.
Hailing from Lunghar village under Chingai Sub-Division of Ukhrul district, late Shimray died following a clash with Zeliangrong United Front, which reportedly occurred on December 17.
He “valiantly fought” ZUF at around 7:30 am at Lamdangmei village, Tamenglong District and succumbed to his injury at 9:30 am between Tupul and Namduanjang village, stated a condolence message from Caretaker, CAO Zeilad Region Sangailung Pamei.
As per the message, late Shimray joined the Naga National service on September 17, 2012.
The Zeilad Region has been a witness to his countless and selfless contributions and along with the Naga Nation salute the brave soul and would continue to cherish everything he had sacrificed for the noble cause of the Nagas, it added.
Acknowledging late Shimray endurance and forbearance, Pamei further noted that it would be difficult to fill the void caused by his demise.
“At this hour of pain and grief, we convey our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members of our late comrade and brother...and offer our humble prayer that the good Lord comforts and strengthen the near and dear ones. May the Almighty God grant the departed soul an eternal peace,” he added.
