NSCN (IM) holds consultation with indigenous communities

Dimapur, January 8 (MExN): The NSCN (IM), on January 8, held an “intensive consultative meeting” with indigenous communities from Dimasa Kacharis, Mech Kacharis, Garos and Gorkhas of “Nagalim” at Singrijan village local ground in Dimapur.  

During the meeting, the indigenous communities were thoroughly briefed about the current ongoing political scenario and “the beauty of Frame Work Agreement that encompass the legitimate rights and safeguard the historical rights of the Nagas,” stated a press release from MIP, NSCN (IM).  

The NSCN (IM) team was headed by Kilo (Home) Kilonser Hukavi Yepthomi and Longvibu, Naga Army and Political Commissar to the Collective leadership, Anthony Shimray along with several steering committee members, Kilonsers and deputy Kilonsers, the release said.  

“The Kilo Kilonser and Longvibu, Naga Army has been tirelessly reaching out to the Naga people on the line of changed political situations following signing the Framework Agreement between the Naga Leaders and the GoI,” it added.  

The NSCN (IM), in the release, further said, “the main sectors in present state of Nagaland have become more familiar with the advancement of the peace process and also understood the environment of manifestation of misgiving as relentlessly propagated by certain section of our own people to further confuse the truth with fake.”  

In this regard, it maintained, “The issue to convey the correct information on perspectives that guarantee accomplishment of what has been achieved in such sustained and forward move after putting a Framework in place is our most utmost priority.”  

The gathering at the end of the meeting unanimously opted to support Framework Agreement for earliest solution and not election, the release said.
