Dimapur, July 28 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today alleged that its cadres were attacked by NSCN (K) cadres in Noklu village under Lazu sub-division of Arunachal Pradesh on July 27. The attack is a total contravention of the recent “Covenant of Reconciliation” (undertaken under the aegis of Forum for Naga Reconciliation) and has exposed “its incredibility and total lack of commitment and irresponsible attitude,” said a note from the ‘MIP.’
According to the MIP, NSCN (K) cadres attacked NSCN (IM) cadres “without any provocation with pre-meditated intentions” on July 27 at Noklu Village, Lazu sub-division of Arunachal Pradesh. “It was only because of the utmost restraint exercised by the NSCN cadres honoring the agreements for reconciliation and avoided retaliation despite the life threatening action of the adversaries that prevented any casualty on both sides,” the outfit asserted.
“The NSCN/GPRN strongly questions the sincerity and commitment of the NSCN (K) which calls for immediate attention and retrospection on the part of the NSCN (K) higher-ups, and Naga general public to avoid further occurrence of such unwarranted incidents which would jeopardize the hard-earned achievements for reconciliation if not address and nib (sic) in the bud,” the MIP stated.
