Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): Troops of the 16 Assam Rifles today said to have intercepted a local taxi in Kohima on February 13 around 9 AM and detecting two NSCN (Khaplang) cadres who were found with fake identity cards. On searching the vehicle one Vibu of the NSCN (Khaplang) was found, openly carrying a 9 mm pistol (Berreta), 1 bullet magazine and 10 live rounds. “Mr Vibu produced an identity card serial No 27 claiming to be Mr Nagaho. Although the card was in the name of one Mr Nagaho but it carried the photo of Mr Vibu,” the AR informed today.
After about two hours, the 16 Assam Rifles troops also intercepted the actual Mr Nagaho, an “SS Lt” in the NSCN (Khaplang), the AR said. He was found to be in possession of a fake yellow identity card also bearing serial No 27. “The signatures of Officiating Chairman CFSB had been forged on this card. Such blatant proliferation of fake identity cards is a matter of grave concern and can lead to serious security situations. Both of them were later handed over to police at Kohima for further investigation,” the AR said.
