NSCN (K) questions Nagaland state govt

Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (K) today questioned the Nagaland state government why “NSCN cadres arrested with arms have been booked under the National Security Act (NSA) and why the same yardstick had not been applied on Imkong Imchen’s case?”

The state government has been asked to respond to the question “before election polling day, less the state govt. should remove the NSA law from Nagaland state and henceforth, any NSCN/GPRN cadre arrested with arms should not be booked under NSA.”

Stating that the NSCN (K) has publicly rejected the Indian election law upon its cadres, it questioned why N. George, Chairman CFSB has “been rejecting the movements of even Red card holders with arms? Pointing out that several candidates have been moving with illegal arms, it inquired “how comes Imkong could used such number of illegal arms while he is not even a party to the Ceasefire agreement?” It further asked “under what law Imkong have been released?”

The statement issued by the MIP asserted its earlier stand that “imposing of Indian election law is flatly rejected by the NSCN because NSCN is not a part to the electioneering process.”
