NSCN (K) questions Rs 1 lakh award

DIMAPUR, DEC 13 (MExN): Taking exception to the announcement of the award of Rs 1 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Hesso Mao’s killers as notified by IGP (Int) MV Chakhesang, the NSCN (K) today stated it did not understand why the Police chief was individualizing the case. “Mr MV Chakhesang will be responsible and accountable for any unwanted incidents in relation to the said case in the near future. The NSCN places this on record for future reference,” the outfit cautioned in a release. The NSCN (K) had earlier claimed responsibility for the killing.

Holding rival group NSCN (IM) for killing “thousands of guiltless and innocent public during their eight years of ceasefire with the Government of India,” a release said the NSCN (IM) had attacked their (NSCN-K) designated camp at Athibung eight times. “Any alleged violations of ceasefire ground rules are the lookout of the enforcement agencies and not the look out or the responsibility of the I-M gangs,” it said.

Kapfu Chakhesang, DSP 10th IRB stationed at Athibung has also been alleged of allowing NSCN (IM) cadres to wear IRB uniforms and thus assisting them in attacking NSCN (K) cadres “confined in the designated Government of India” camps.
