NSCN Khaplang reiterates commitment to reconciliation

DIMAPUR, MARCH 1 (MExN): As per the commitment made by His Excellency S.S Khaplang himself, the NSCN/GPRN has stated that it was sincere and firm in reiterating the need to uphold the Covenant of Reconciliation (COR). A press note from the MIP has also expressed appreciation to the FNR’s steadfast pursuit of Naga reconciliation on the basis of uniqueness of Naga history and political rights.

“Though unable to attend reconciliation meet himself physically on short notice due to health and security concerns, nevertheless, extends sincere appreciation and acknowledgement for the effort”, the MIP note stated.

The NSCN Khaplang however expressed unhappiness over “Khehoi’s hostile act of blowing out of proportion an incident related to weapon-carrying and confiscation”. “Non-resistance during the act of forcible confiscation itself is a clear indication of non-ulterior motives as alleged by Khehoi”. The MIP note stated that for the security of the delegates of the reconciliation meet, “our cadre was carrying a firearm”. However, he had handed over the firearm without resistance when accosted by the Khehoi boys, the press note stated.

The NSCN Khaplang stated that the allegations levelled by the “Khehoi group that our boys attempted to assassinate their leaders is completely out of notion”. “On the contrary, the forcible disarming and hurling of allegations on the NSCN/GPRN only shows the aggressive nature of Khehoi group”.
