NSCN Khaplang on ‘trend of criminalization’

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN): The ongoing war of words between the NSCN groups, one led by SS Khaplang and the other led by Khole-Kitovi continues with the former issuing another statement today. A note from the NSCN-Khaplang blamed the NSCN-Khole/Kitovi for the “trend of criminalization of Naga cause.”

The NSCN-Khaplang through its MIP stated that the “emergence of the trend of criminalization of Naga cause began way back (since 1990) by the present occupants of Khehoi camp and will continue to be so unless the Nagas realize and clamp down on this criminal enterprise at an earliest.” The NSCN-Khaplang further added that “the naive and honest Nagas has been swayed away by anti-Naga propagandas disseminated through unprincipled and opportunistic section of the Nagas that sought to materially and mortally benefit at the cost of Naga’s political aspiration.” Since the split of the NSCN/GPRN in the year 1988 until ‘late 2000’s’, the MIP of the NSCN/GPRN-Khaplang said, “NSCN’s had been embroiled in unnecessary bloody conflicts due to instigations by these nomadic hordes gathered at Khehoi.”

The MIP said “there is not a single member in Khehoi camp who has not defected in between the NSCN’s for not less than minimum of three times, majority of the gang leaders has the distinctive record of having defected seven to eight times.”

The NSCN-Khaplang accused “these nomads” of carrying out “every dastard anti-social activities such as kidnapping, extortion, threat, intimidation etc and continued their self-enrichment activities shamelessly…” All these crimes were carried out without the knowledge or consent of SS Khaplang and these activities in itself “being a complete contradiction of peace and reconciliation slogan, Inno. SS Khaplang cautioned them to mend their ways. As expected, rather than heeding to the righteous advice, the coalition of Kholi, Kitovi and Azheto conspired against SS Khaplang and formed a new gang in the month of June 2011.”

The MIP statement said “The extent of insanity and falsehood of Khehoi campers has once again been brought to the fore when a murder of one NSCN civilian worker, Rajapeyu Ihoto Sumi of Litshami village was carried out (murdered on the night of 23rd. Dec. 2011, Zunheboto) hand in hand along with Khole’s wide publicised message- “Time for joy and not violence”.”

“Finally, when both the NSCN’s became well aware of their deceitful nature, they resorted to start using FNR as its only salvage,” the MIP note stated. The NSCN/GPRN said “while urging the FNR to carry on with its peace and reconciliation mission, may also be sincerely asked to remain vigilant of those anti-peace elements seeking to spread evil agendas under its shield.”

‘Warns against provocative acts’

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN): The NSCN-Khaplang today condemned raids carried out in ‘various places in Nagaland’ by the Assam Rifles “at the behest of our enemies.” A note from the organization’ ‘MIP’ today said the Assam Rifles raided residences of top functionaries of the NSCN at Dimapur, Kiphire, Mon and Zunheboto districts. The raids are violation of the ceasefire ground rules, the MIP stated.

“The residence of NSCN Kiphire region chairman was raided by Assam Rifles personnel who broke open the lock and ransacked his place on the 24th of December while in a similar operation instigated by Khehoi group, Assam Rifles personnel raided the residence of lt.gen. Niki Sumi at Naharbari purportedly acting on information provided by the district administration. The AR personnel raided the residence of the lt. gen. Niki Sumi at around 12 noon today while there was only a maidservant present,” the MIP stated.

The MIP said that “the NSCN takes strong exception to the high-handedness on the part of the Assam Rifles in conducting raids and ransacking residences of our leaders at the behest of our foes and takes these actions as direct violation of the ceasefire ground rules.” “Henceforth, the NSCN warns that it will not tolerate such provocative actions and that it will reply in befitting terms,” the note added.
