Dimapur, January 20 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN-Khaplang condole the deaths its “chief secretary” and a cadre Athui Rongma, both killed in separate factional incidents earlier this week.
A note from the NSCN/GPRN Khaplang vice-president “gen. (retd)” Khango Konyak expressed “sorrow over the cold-blooded killing of Late. Ghukato Assumi, Chief Secretary, NSCN/GPRN on 19th January 2012 at Zunheboto by Kholi Group.”
“On Killing our real patriotic Naga will not benefits the killers and their bloodsucking boss who claims himself to be the peace lover but garlanded with series of killing histories. Late. Ghukato Assumi proved himself most sincere nationalist who occupied the highest place in NSCN civil administration,” a note from Konyak stated. In his demise, the message said a dynamic and “high caliber patriotic worker” has been lost. The vice-president of the NSCN/GPRN expresses sympathies to the bereaved family and prays that the Almighty God would grant the departed soul peace.
Another message from the organization’s “central secretariat staffs” expresses for Ghukato Assumi who was described as a “revolutionary.” “Late. Ghukato Assumi joined Naga national movement in 1998 and took basic military training in the eastern Nagaland and appointed to the post of sectional officer in civil set-up who dedicated his services to the Naga national movement and acquired to the highest post of chief secretary. We further continued that Late. Ghukato Assumi was a man who upheld the revolutionary philosophy and principles and to him the cause for the Naga people was precious and above all else,” the message from the armed organization said.
The “secretariat staffs” of the NSCN/GPRN said “it was a day of sorrow for everyone because a renounce and dynamic leader had gone from his midst.”
Expressing pride at the leader “who would not compromise on the truth,” the message prayed that the departed soul rest in peace in God’s abode. “We further express sympathy to the bereaved family members and pray that the almighty God grand and give strength to them to face this sorrow and tragedy.”
A condolence message from the MIP was also received here for the death of Athui Rongmai. “The NSCN condole over the death of 2nd lieut. Athui Rongmai village of Khoupung in the Athobung designated camp who was killed by Kholi’s group on 19th January 2012. Terming the killing of Late 2nd Lieut. Athui Rongmai was unfortunate, the NSCN has lost a young and bright officer who stood to perform his duty for cause of Naga Nation,” the message from the MIP said.
The NSCN expresses pride for the ‘extreme sacrifice he had made’ and extends condolences. The MIP prays for the departed soul to rest in peace. “The NSCN wish that, his sacrifice shall continue to live to inspire the upcoming Naga army's. May God be with the bereaved family members and give them strength and solace at this hour of grief and sorrow,” the message added.
