DIMAPUR, APRIL 7 (MExN): In connection to ENPO’s Declaration of Non-Cooperation to NSCN/ GPRN, as a result of what it termed as the “unfortunate elimination of three Khehoi Gangsters in Mon District”, the NSCN Khaplang in a press note issued by its MIP has brought to “light the circumstances and the intent and purpose of the deceased which necessitated/forced the NSCN/GPRN to take the extreme steps”.
“Thorough interrogation has revealed that, would be assassins have been despatched on a conspiracy mission to liquidate senior NSCN leaders camped at Mon with assured monetary rewards on accomplishment of the mission”, stated the MIP note pointing out that the “nature of the task itself was extremely detrimental to the safety and security of not only the NSCN leaders but also a premeditated act of coup to sabotage the cause and aspiration of the Naga people”.
Further, it stated that the “pre-planned criminal conspiracy of assassination in itself is prior violation of ENPO resolution by Khehoi gangsters themselves”. The MIP note claimed that while the custodial interrogation was still on, the “Khehoi gangsters in order to hush up the abortive coup resorted to unilateral abrogation of peace covenant and attacked the Sumi region Vice-Chairman at Zunheboto”. “In fact, it was Kitovi & Khole who eliminated their own three cadres as according to their design”.
The MIP note stated that despite the “obvious perception of their cadres safety, instead of appealing the NSCN/GPRN for clemency, it contrarily provoked the NSCN/GPRN cadres to eliminate their own cadres who were in our custody”.
“Taking into account the various aspects of the issue and ramifications, the NSCN/GPRN acted as desired by Khole and Kitovi and not on emotional whims or with intent to defy ENPO’s resolution”, the MIP note stated while adding that the “pre-emptive military intervention thus became indispensible”.
The ENPO was therefore urged to ponder over its non-cooperation declaration in the light of the prevailing circumstances during the time of “unfortunate incident”. The NSCN Khaplang also appealed to the ENPO to iron out the differences by “reasoning together and to re-strengthen the on-going peace and political process among the Nagas as well as with the GOI”.
