KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 18 (MExN): The Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) on Wednesday organised a consultative meeting with apex women tribal hohos of the state at the SIRD Conference Hall here.

Most of the women organisations were represented by their presidents and general secretaries, who deliberated on a wide range of issues concerning the empowerment, safety and security of women in Nagaland, a press release said.

In the first session, NSCW chairperson W Nginyeih Konyak delivered the keynote address, underscoring the need for collective effort to create a safe and enabling environment for women.

The meeting was chaired by Bodeno S Colo, member-secretary of the Commission.

“The voices of women tribal hohos are crucial in shaping policies and interventions that directly impact the lives of women across Nagaland. Together, we can work towards ensuring dignity, equity and security for every woman in our society,” Konyak said.

The meeting served as a platform for dialogue with tribal women leaders and reaffirmed the collective commitment to safeguard women’s rights and strengthen their participation in all spheres of life, the press release added.
