Kohima, May 14 (MExN): The Nagaland State Commission for Women in collaboration with the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission conducted an awareness programme on ‘Mainstreaming Gender into Development Plans and Policies’ at Lasumi Village under Pfutsero on May 14.
According to a press release, the programme was attended by women organisations, Village Development Board (VDB) members, Village Council representatives, Self Help Groups (SHGs), District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), SAKHI-One Stop Centre (OSC), and the District Welfare Officer (DWO).
Chairperson of NSCW, W. Nginyeih Konyak delivered the keynote address, while Mhalo Humtsoe delivered a short speech during the inaugural session.
During the technical session, State Programme Manager of NSRLM, Khriezovonuo Lhoungu spoke on ‘Gender Integration & Mainstreaming.’
Member of NSCW, Kekhrienuo Meyase presented on ‘Inclusion of Women in Planning and Decision-Making Positions,’ while Akokla Longchar spoke on ‘Legal Rights & Constitutional Provision for Women.’
The vote of thanks was delivered by Wepretsou Kupa.
