Dimapur, June 14 (MExN): The farmers’ wing of the Naga People’s Front (NSF) today said the “kheti wala remark” of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) “is a continuation of state congress parties malicious campaign after the ill- intent bloodline charges of SI Jamir which has obviously undermine the stature of opposition bench in the state.”
A note from the NPF farmers’ wing’s president Lanukaba dwelled at length the “kheti wala remark.”
“The khedi wala remark is on expected line and it underscores a simple fact that emotion has engulfed the NPCC. Moreover, it exhibits their snobbish character and approach to issue of public importance. The state congress party remark is a scornful branding of farmers who are the backbone of Naga society,” the rejoinder stated.
The farmers’ wing ‘with full responsibility’ has laid the acts of omission and commission of ‘NPC, front-runner of NPCC but surprisingly, they have skirted the issue and congress party are in a sneering spree which is quite unfortunate,’ Lanukaba explained.
Nonetheless, the farmers wing is “exercising restrain so as to maintain sanity in public discourse” in spite of the NPCC ‘going hammer and tong against the NPF in every available public space.’
The wing asserted that ‘any day can be a good day for the members of the state Congress party to join our band wagon’ since “we do not follow vindictive appeasement and certainly it is not in our book.”
