NSF flays Abonmai killing; calls for unity in all Naga inhabited areas 

Dimapur, September 28 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) today joined other in condemning the killing of Athaun Abonmai, the former president of Zeliangrong Baudi on September 22 at Pallong village under Tamenlong district of Manipur.

The NSF is deeply disturbed at the “subsequent abduction and gruesome killing” late Abonmai and strongly condemns such barbaric act perpetrated by some anti-societal elements which have outraged the sentiments of the entire Naga populace and beyond, said the Federation in a statement. 

While the entire region is collectively striving towards lasting peace and stability, to bring about a life of dignity and the shared purpose of peaceful coexistence and respectful relationships, such inhumane and diabolical act negates the very aspiration of the general populace, it said. 

It is ought to be out rightly condemned by all right thinking citizens, added NSF in the statement issued by its President Kegwayhun Tep.

Further, the NSF appealed for peace and unity in all the Naga inhabited areas among various stakeholders, CSOs and individuals and to continue to “press forward in strengthened cooperation in days to come while also sparing no efforts to uproot those elements and practices which are against the social and economic progress of our people.”

We must respect each other's history and basic human rights, accept each others differences and value the common interests so as to establish a secure future where the entire region will thrive together in harmony, it said. 

“We stand in solidarity and furthermore, extend our deepest and profound sympathy to the bereaved family members of late Athaun Abonmai,” the NSF added,
