NSF inspects functioning of Kheloshe polytechnic

DIMAPUR, OCT 19 (MExN): Phushika V Awomi, President NSF, visiting Kheloshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA)  said that the objective of their visit was to know the problems and grievances of the students, staff and land owners. Phushika also said that teaching is a noble profession and everyone has to respect them but also warned the teaching community that there will be no compromise on irregularities. He further assured them all possible help in solving the problems. Hetoi, President SKK, Daniel Tep, Joint Secretary NSF and O Wati Jamir, Vice-President ANCSU stressed on the need to provide quality education to the students’ and urged upon the faculty members to give their best and be sincere in their service.

A second meeting was held with KPA students where the students highlighted their problems such as shortage of lecturers in every department i.e. civil, electrical, mechanical and automobile, no permanent appointed computer lecturer, shortage of practical equipments in workshops, safety in laboratory and low scholarship and non-inclusion of hostel fees in the scholarship. The students also said that within a span of 34 years, KPA had 17 principles which they said is not suitable for the smooth functioning of the institution and therefore urged the students’ leaders to look into the matter. A meeting was also held with Land Donors Union (LDU) where the LDU said that they were ready to donate their lands and assured that they will fully co-operate with the government department and to KPA. They also expressed the need of a police sub-station to maintain law and order in the town and fence for the institution. Later the NSF President expressed gratitude to the land donors on behalf of all the students’ community for donating their lands and urged them to fully co-operate with the government department and to KPA.

Meanwhile, the Atoizu Range Students’ Union (ARSU) expressed gratitude to Phushika V Awomi, President NSF and his colleagues, Hetoi Chishi, President All Sumi Students Union (SKK) and his colleagues and all All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) for taking the initiative to visit KPA. The team had a meeting with the KPA staffers which was presided by Mughato Achumi, Administrative Officer (AO) KPA.
