Kohima, May 7 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has submitted a representation to the Nagaland Director General of Police (DGP), expressing concern over the alleged delay in investigation into the NICSE fraud case and seeking immediate action against the accused.
In its representation addressed to the DGP, the federation stated that it was deeply concerned over the delay in delivering justice to students affected by the alleged fraudulent activities of Suman Saha, Managing Director of the National Institute of Civil Service Examinations (NICSE), and his associates.
According to the NSF, an FIR/complaint was formally lodged on February 3, 2026, alleging “cheating, financial exploitation, mental harassment, and the abrupt closure” of NICSE coaching centres operating in Kohima, Dimapur and Chümoukedima.
However, the federation claimed that despite the passage of considerable time since the filing of the complaint, there has been no visible progress or concrete action in the case.
The federation stated that the matter directly affects the future, aspirations and financial resources of numerous students who had enrolled in the institution for competitive examination coaching.
It alleged that students were made to pay full course fees, but the promised educational services were not delivered as outlined in the institute’s prospectus.
The NSF further alleged that the coaching centres were shut down without prior notice and that repeated appeals by students seeking refunds or completion of their courses were met with evasive responses.
Stating that the delay in investigation has added to the distress of the affected students, the federation urged the DGP to expedite the investigation, ensure that all accused persons are traced and brought under the purview of law, and initiate appropriate legal action in accordance with the law.
The representation, appended by NSF President Mteisuding and General Secretary Kenilo Kent, also appealed for personal intervention from the DGP to ensure that justice is delivered at the earliest.
