THE NSF team led by its President who was here at Mon in an unofficial visit, held a lengthy informal interaction with the NSCN (K) top leaders at the Ceasefire Monitoring Cell (CFMC) Office. The interaction lasted for about 5 hours and issues pertaining to Naga political movement were briefed by the NSCN (K) leaders.

The NSCN (K) was apparently not very happy with the NSF whereby it maintained that the Naga NGOS including the Naga Hoho are the ‘mouthpiece of the NSCN (IM)’.

The leaders cited many an occasion to substantiate this claim of a nexus and questioned as to what was the intention behind such a game lambasting that Naga NGOs never maintained neutrality. The NSCN (K) leaders have also demanded from the visiting NSF team to clearly define in political terms as to what the phrase uniqueness of Naga history meant when every history in the world is already unique in itself and therefore what more uniqueness was recognized by the Government of India.

Further, the NSF team was also quizzed on the term ‘unification after solution’ when the NSF-Naga Hoho were themselves deserted by mass organizations in Mon, Tuensang, Kiphire and Longleng. The NSF team was also told to elucidate about the ongoing political talks and what was meant by ‘an honorable solution?’ The NSF is expected to respond to the four queries raised by the NSCN (K).

On other issues discussed during the marathon meeting, the NSCN (K) made it extremely clear that it will now never unite or reconcile with the NSCN (IM) and regrettably pointed to many an occasion when the NSCN (IM) had refused and denounced the offer of peace and reconciliation.

“The NSCN (IM) has ignored 4 golden opportunities”. The NSCN (K) informed of the 1997 peace meeting convened at Atlanta under the aegis of North American Baptist Fellowship in which ‘the NSCN (IM) did not show up’. It further pointed to the refusal of the NSCN (IM) to attend a reconciliation meeting at Wokha during 2001, the assassination of late Lawrence Angami in the midst of reconciliation meeting convinced by the NBCC during 2003 and lastly the NSCN (IM) rejecting the unilateral offer of Ceasefire from the NSCN (K) during 2004. “Now unity and reconciliation between the NSCNs is over”, it was bluntly told to the NSF team.

Sending a strong forewarning that if Naga NGOs are not conscious “Nagas will enter into a tragic period”, the leaders also maintained that no force on earth will compromise the sovereignty of the Nagas and will strive against all odds to achieve it.
“The NSCN (K) will never forfeit sovereignty of Nagas and even a single living soul will preserve and uphold Naga sovereignty”, said Kughalo Mulatonu.

It also reiterated that if Naga Hoho and NSF believe that they can bring solution to Nagas by supporting the GoI-NSCN (IM) political talks then the NSCN (K) advises them to wholeheartedly support it “and don’t ever assume that NSCN (K) existed and we will be so contended if they at all can bring tangible and so called honorable solution”. The NSCN (K) nevertheless asserted and warned them not to make a political blunder for which the coming generation and posterity will curse and condemn those who commit it.
