NSGEWA to assist members on pension/final GPF matters

Dimapur, July 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Senior Government Employees Welfare Association (NSGEWA) has announced of its resolution to help/assist members having any problem related to pension/final GPF or any other pensionary benefits cases. NSGEWA Jt Secretary, P Vese and Vice Chairman, Imkokngyapang in a press release has asked its members desirous of assistance to contact and approach the office of the NSGEWA on Monday to Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The decision to help was made during the general meeting of the NSGEWA held on June 25, 2011, at the Office complex at Khonoma Rupfuno Building (D Block) Kohima. The meeting was well attended by members of all the district units. The chairman of the Association presided over the meeting. Two minutes silent prayer was observed in remembrance of all the deceased members and also offered sincere condolences to the bereaved families.
The meeting deliberated on issues relating to non-finalisation of pension/final GPF and other pensionary benefits of all its members who were forcefully made to retire without any advance preparation for a pensioned/retired life. The house observed that untold economic hardship been faced by all its members due to the enactment of the Nagaland Retirement from Public Service Act, 2009 by the State Government and further devoted with the finalisation of pensionary dues.
Many cases of untold suffering were reported from across the State, such as University/college/school drop-outs of children of retired employees, mortgages of property/final GPF/pension, mental trauma, demise of retired member without enjoying the pensionary benefits for which the house convey its sincere sympathy and solidarity in the hour of needs.
Further, the house re-affirmed its previous resolutions to collect membership from its entire member for 2 (two) year i.e 2010 & 2011 @ (Rs. 250 + Rs. 250) Rs. 500 per member.
