Dimapur, September 1 (MExN): Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) conducted various Legal Literacy programmes and activities for Legal Literacy Clubs (LLCs) across the. 

According to a press release from the Public Relations Assistant, NSLSA received on Wednesday, on August 17, Mon District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) organised a painting competition on Right to Education with LLCs during which Chief Judicial Magistrate & Secretary Mon DLSA Seyielenuo Mezhü elaborated on the competition topic. Based on the final decision of the judges, cash prizes were awarded to the winners: Aying from Don Bosco Hr Sec School, Mon (First), Peter Leezushu from Konjong Hr Sec School, Mon (Second), Manwang from Don Bosco Hr Sec School, Mon (Third). Consolation prize was awarded to Pholang K from Govt Hr Sec School ‘D’ , Mon. 

In Wokha too, the DLSA organised a similar competition on August 28 during which Athunglo P Humtsoe was adjudged as first prize winner, while Rhonjanthung Jami and Nzanroni Yanthan came second and third respectively. JMFC & Wokha DLSA Secretary Khrievono Seletsu and Retainer Lawyers Meribemo A Lotha and Shanchobeni P Lotha were the judges for the event.

Longleng DLSA organised an online speech competition for LLCs on ‘RTE Act 2009’ on August 30. The winners were Lidau H Phom from Christian School, K Asang Phom from Good Shepherd School and Theiang B Phom from Shamakok Mission School. Over 20 students from LLCs participated in the programme.

Dimapur DLSA meanwhile conducted Inter Legal Literacy Club Debate Competition on the topic ‘Social media and the rapid spread of information’ at the District Court Complex on August 30. Seven LLC schools participated in the debate competition where Mharhoni Ezung from Livingstone Foundation International and Lisabeth B Awomi from Christian Higher Sec School bagged the first position. Imnasenla Longkumer from St John Hr Sec School and Christina Ming from Naharbari Govt High School came 2nd and 3rd respectively. The judges were Y Longkumer, Principal District & Sessions Judge and Chairperson, Dimapur DLSA, and Boduve Peter Resu, CJM (IC) and Secretary Dimapur DLSA. OSD (Registrar), Secretary, Supreme Court Legal Services Committee Mezivolu T Therieh distributed the certificates and prizes.

On August 30, Kohima DLSA conducted online debate on ‘Development and environment’. Winners were Stella Higher Sec School (First), Dr Neilhouzhu Hr Sec School came second and Chandmari Hr Sec School and GHSS Tseminyu came third. Retainer and Panel lawyers Sunjib Rana, Aketoli and Stila were the judges.

On August 26, Phek DLSA in collaboration with Teacher In-charge, Legal Literacy Club members of Christian Home School, Phek conducted Painting/Sketching competition on ‘Misuse of gadgets and Social Media’ in the presence of Cheliam Khiamniungan, Secretary, Phek DLSA-cum-JMFC. Thozo, Vethalu and Mewe were adjudged winners of the competition.
