Dimapur, July 4 (MExN): The Northeast Sewa Mission Dimapur, Nagaland and supported by All People Church, Bangalore distributed relief packages and provided assistance to needy communities in Dimapur on July 3.

In a press release, PRO & Media Cell In-charge Lucy Lohe informed that the Northeast Sewa Mission which works among the underprivileged people groups, distributed dry rations to 50 families, identified through the local church leaders and public leaders. The beneficiaries, including single mothers, widows, daily wagers, and students from far flung areas were given essential food commodities sponsored by All People Church Bangalore.

The release stated that the organisation would target villages lying in the Assam-Nagaland border belt in its final phase of relief work. It also underscored that the COVID-19 preventive lockdown has changed the life of every individual in the country. While the lockdown is laudable and may be very much required to fight the pandemic, it has also led to numerous problems, especially for the underprivileged section of the society who live in a ‘hand to mouth’ situation throughout the year. Thousands of daily wage earners have lost their jobs and are struggling to fend for themselves and their families, it added.
